We decided to drive up to Spruce Knob. At 4863 feet, Spruce Knob is the highest point in the state of West Virginia. Spruce Knob is also the highest peak of the Allegheny Mountains. The view from up here is breathtaking. I had no idea how gorgeous the state of West Virginia would be. You can see forever from up there. And the views of the valleys look so peaceful down there. We all agreed that it reminded us of The Shire from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Peaceful, perfect, lush green land. Absolutely beautiful and so worth the drive up the mountain for this view!
